Remote Insurance Follow-Up Representative (Medi-Cal)

Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionA Remote Insurance Follow-Up Representative (MediCal) will be responsible for all collection functions for hospitaland physician services. This primary responsibility of this position is account resolution which includes the following duties: reviewing accounts, following up with Medi-Cal and various insurance companies on claim status, gathering and submitting any missing information, rebilling, appeals, and billing out secondary electronic or paper claims to all payers as needed.Duties/ResponsibilitiesProvide customer service to various healthcare contract customersPrepare, research and collect from Medi-Cal and various contracted health insurance payersResearch remits and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) for complete accurate payments or denialsProvide or arrange for additional information when neededSubmit corrected claims or appealsRequest appropriate adjustments, when requiredIdentify items that require client assistanceGather payor trends and provide feedbackOther duties as assignedRequired Skills/KnowledgeMedi-Cal experience requiredEPIC experience preferredMicrosoft OfficeKnowledge in government and non-government billing guidelines for facility/physicianKnowledge in account/claim status, resolution, and appeals processKnowledge of the UB04 and HCFA formsExcellent customer service and time management skillsHigh attention to detail requiredExcellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills requiredEducation/ExperienceHigh school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate requiredOne to Two years of college preferredMinimum of three years of experience preferredPrior medical billing and insurance collections or healthcare revenue cycle experience preferredBenefitsAnnuity Health offers its employees excellent benefits including: Health, Dental, Vision, HSA and FSA Accounts, Voluntary Insurance, Paid Holidays, PTO, and 401(k).Salary DescriptionPay Scale - $16.00 to $26.00
