Position InformationClassification Title Student Assistant FLSA Non-Exempt UGA Job Code FTE 0.50 Minimum Qualifications Position SummaryCollects stink bugs and bees at field sites using plant scouting and trapping techniques to monitor population dynamics and diversity of these insects in wildflowers, cotton, and other habitats. Washes collected bees to collect pollen for DNA studies and then pins the bees. Deploys and retrieves stink bugs egg masses in various stink bug host plants in these habitats. Maintains wildflower plots by mowing grass, de-weeding, and watering. Helps plant wildflowers in field plots. Responsible for general maintenance of vehicles (pumping gas and keeping clean) and field and laboratory tools and equipment.Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or CompetenciesAble to work independentlyPhysical DemandsDriving, standing, bending and able to withstand elements outside.Is this a Position of Trust?
