Role Overview As a PHP/MySQL Developer at PAYCE Technology, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable web applications. A critical aspect of this position is transforming new feature requests from individual clients into scalable, cloud-based solutions that can serve our broad client base. You will also contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our established, mission-critical product that is currently in use by a large and diverse client base. Your work will directly impact the success and satisfaction of our clients in the parking industry. Key Responsibilities: Enhance and maintain an existing web application utilized by a large user base. Analyze and translate client-specific feature requests into multi-tenant, cloud-based implementations. Develop and maintain back-end functionality using PHP and MySQL. Design and implement database schemas for scalability and performance. Create dynamic, user-friendly front-end interactions using jQuery and native JavaScript. Deploy and manage applications in an AWS environment. Collaborate with the team through version control workflows in BitBucket. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications to ensure high performance. Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices to continually enhance your work. Travel Requirement: Some travel to our company headquarters in Springfield, Massachusetts will be required (up to 3 weeks per year) for training and team-building activities. What We’re Looking For We’re seeking a developer with a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions and a passion for solving complex challenges. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of hands-on experience in PHP development. Strong proficiency with MySQL database design and query optimization. Expertise in jQuery and native JavaScript for creating dynamic, interactive front-end features. Experience deploying and managing applications in AWS. Familiarity with version control systems, particularly BitBucket. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to transform client-specific feature requests into scalable solutions for multi-tenant cloud environments. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Must be willing to work as a W-2 employee (1099 arrangements will not be considered). Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
