Job Title: Senior Network Engineer (Contract)Location: Bay Area, CA (100% onsite; primarily South San Francisco and San Carlos with travel to Pleasanton and other Bay Area sites)Travel: ~20% within the Bay AreaDuration: 6‑month contractStart Date: ASAPSchedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM OverviewSeeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to support our client’s rapid growth through the deployment and operation of new, greenfield network infrastructure. This role is heavily focused on building networks from the ground up, supporting new site buildouts, and managing day‑to‑day network operations across multiple Bay Area locations. This is a hands‑on, senior‑level position requiring minimal oversight and deep experience with on‑prem physical network environments. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, deploy, and build network infrastructure for new and existing sitesLead greenfield network deployments and new site buildoutsSupport and maintain on‑prem network operations, including switches, wireless, and firewallsInstall, rack, stack, and configure network equipment in IDFs and MDFsPerform physical network tasks such as cable tracing, running new cabling, and equipment installationAdminister and monitor network performance using SolarWindsTroubleshoot and resolve network issues across multiple Bay Area office locationsCollaborate with senior engineers and leadership to ensure network scalability, reliability, and performanceTravel between Bay Area offices as needed to support deployments and operations Required QualificationsSenior‑level network engineering experience with the ability to operate independentlyProven experience designing and deploying networks from the ground upStrong hands‑on experience with:Juniper switchesCisco Meraki wirelessPalo Alto (PA) firewallsSolarWinds (administration and monitoring)Deep experience with physical network infrastructure and on‑prem environmentsBackground supporting multi‑site enterprise networksAbility to independently manage deployments, troubleshooting, and operational support Physical RequirementsAbility to lift and install network equipment (switches, hardware, cabling)Comfortable working in IDFs/MDFsAbility to rack equipment, trace cables, and run new network cabling Additional NotesThis role does not require AWS or cloud networking experienceFocus is entirely on on‑prem physical network buildouts and operations
