If you're a self-motivated, detail-oriented scientist with a passion for innovation and problem-solving, we invite you to join our dynamic team in Naperville, Illinois.SummaryAs an Assay Development Scientist within our Genomics Services team, you will be responsible for the implementation, development, and validation of high-quality qPCR, dPCR, and NGS assays for use in clinical trials, utilizing state-of-the-art RNA and DNA technologies.ResponsibilitiesMore specifically, you will:Manage, plan, create, and execute complex technical and laboratory studies for small teams, including writing protocols and reviewing and approving documents within design control proceduresConduct laboratory procedures to support the development or implementation of assays across different workflowsTroubleshoot and perform technical interpretation of data; evaluate and document studies; analyze and present results in written reportsWork collaboratively with team members and colleagues from other functions to ensure projects are delivered safely, effectively, and efficiently to the required quality and regulatory standards in a timely mannerDevelop and present data for internal and external projectsPrepare for and lead departmental and client meetingsEducationMaster's or PhD in Life Sciences (preferably Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Biochemistry)Qualifications & RequirementsMinimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in a highly regulated environmentSolid foundation in molecular genetics and genomics technologies is essentialExperience with assay development using qPCR, dPCR, or NGS is requiredExperience with NGS troubleshooting is requiredExperience working in a regulated environment (ISO 13485) is a plusStrong computer skills and significant experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word are requiredDemonstrated excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesResults-oriented, creative, and analytical thinker with a proactive mindsetProven organizational skills, self-motivation, accountability, and attention to detailAbility to manage and prioritize multiple projects effectivelyStrong troubleshooting, data analysis, and interpretation skillsFlexible, sociable, diplomatic, a team player, inspirational, and a strong communicatorEager to learn and assimilate new conceptsWorking ConditionsFull-time permanent position, 100% onsite, Monday through FridayBenefitsCompetitive wages: $69,800-$93,000 USDMedical, dental, and vision benefits401(k) retirement savings plan with a healthy matchVacation and sick timeCareer development opportunitiesAbout CellCartaCellCarta is a leading provider of specialized precision medicine laboratory services to the biopharmaceutical industry.
