Stepdown Registered Nurse | San Francisco, California

A clinical nursing role is available in San Francisco, CA, focusing on step-down unit care within a mixed intensive care environment. This contract position requires a Registered Nurse with specialized neuro experience to deliver high-quality patient management in a 19-bed unit that includes neuro, medical, trauma, vascular, and cardiothoracic specialties.Responsibilities:Provide patient care in a step-down unit with a 3:1 nurse-to-patient ratioManage neurological patients including EBD drain care (no open heart care required)Float between ICU and Progressive Care Medical Unit as neededUtilize Epic electronic health records proficiently to ensure accurate documentation and patient trackingQualifications:Current California RN licenseMinimum of two years RN experience in acute care settingsRecent (within last year) hands-on experience with Epic system to successfully complete Epic pre-assessmentNeurocare skills and experience managing external ventricular drains (EBD)Preferred trauma certification or experience (TNCC preferred)Ability to adapt flexibly to both ICU and step-down care environmentsShift Details:Contract position with attention required to specified start dates (submissions more than two weeks beyond requested start may be declined)Up to 36 call-off hours available during the assignment at no costThis opportunity is based in vibrant San Francisco, known for its dynamic healthcare community and excellent living standards.
