Robotics Engineer (Modelling & Simulation)
ABOUT THE ROLE
Contribute to the development of advanced robotics and automation solutions that enable improved efficiency, precision, and decision‑making. Within SoftServe’s Robotics & Advanced Automation Group, apply engineering, mathematical, and software development expertise to design intelligent systems from concept to production, combining applied research, simulation‑first development, and real‑world validation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Model and optimize dynamic processes
Design and develop complex control systems for robotic platforms
Develop rapid prototypes and evolution into production‑ready solutions
Test and validate robotic solutions in simulation and real‑world environments
Design automated robotic systems to enhance efficiency and precision in targeted industries
Research modern robotics approaches, including navigation, sensing, and decision‑making
REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of professional software development experience in Python
MSc or PhD degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Robotics, or a related field
Strong proficiency in algorithm design, development, and implementation
Deep knowledge of control theory, including model‑based control (MPC, MHE, LQG), Kalman filtering, and decentralized systems
Strong expertise in mathematical optimization techniques (NLP, QP, MILP)
Proven experience in first‑principles and data‑driven modeling of dynamic systems
Deep understanding of numerical methods, concurrent programming, and component‑oriented design
Proven experience in AWS cloud services in software development
Strong proficiency in databases such as SQLite and PostgreSQL
Solid experience working in Unix/Linux environments
Proven expertise in testing, CI/CD, build and deployment processes, and system monitoring
High level of attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving capability
Strong mathematical foundation and collaborative mindset
Upper‑intermediate proficiency in English, both spoken and written
