HR Specialist - Leave Administration
Position SummaryWe are supporting a wonderful client in Downtown Sacramento with a Temporary HR Specialist - Leave Administration. This role is responsible for managing and administering employee leave programs in compliance with federal, state, and company policies. This role ensures accurate tracking, clear communication, and a positive employee experience related to all types of leave, including medical, family, and disability leaves.100% On-site | Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm Temporary: 90 days+ Pay Rate: $30-40/hrKey ResponsibilitiesAdminister and manage employee leave programs, including but not limited to: Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)State-specific leave laws (e.g., CFRA, Paid Family Leave)Short-term and long-term disabilityMilitary leave and personal leaves of absenceServe as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave inquiries and processesEvaluate leave requests for eligibility and ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policiesCoordinate with payroll, and benefits vendors to ensure seamless leave processingMaintain accurate and up-to-date employee leave records in HRIS systemsTrack leave usage, balances, and return-to-work datesCommunicate leave approvals, denials, and required documentation to employees in a timely and empathetic mannerEnsure proper documentation is collected, reviewed, and securely maintainedPartner with HR Business Partners and managers to support employee transitions, accommodations, and return-to-work plansMonitor changes in leave laws and regulations; recommend and implement policy updates as neededProvide training and guidance to managers and employees on leave policies and proceduresGenerate reports and analyze leave trends to support workforce planning and complianceRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)2-5 years of HR experience, with a strong focus on leave administrationSolid knowledge of federal and state leave laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, state leave programs)Experience working with HRIS systems and case management toolsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive, confidential informationExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with leave administrationHR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP)Experience working with third-party leave administrators All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
