Equipment includes Philips Epiq Elite ultrasound devices. Certifications required are BLS, RDMS - Abdomen, and OB/GYN; Vascular certification is preferred. Work ratios involve 10-15 studies per day. EMR systems in use are Cerner and McKesson PACs. Scheduling and time-card reports are managed by API Team. Weekend requirement includes call from 11:30 AM to 6:00 PM Sunday through Thursday, and from 11:30 PM on Friday and Saturday nights. Holiday call coverage is required. Scrub color is teal. First shift begins at 7:00 AM with the last shift ending at 3:00 PM. Floor-specific orientation requires 3-4 shifts. Experience in thoracentesis or paracentesis is a plus. There is a significant focus on OB, but it is not specialized in high-risk OB. Candidates should be familiar with properly measuring cervical length. The facility sees a high volume of emergency cases. There will be a lot of OB studies to ensure viable pregnancies, as well as arterial and carotid studies. Experience with vascular procedures, DVT, scrotum, and transvaginal ultrasound is desirable. Trophon is used to clean probes. Aorta evaluations are infrequent, but experience with looking for brain bleeds in infants is preferred. Candidates should be knowledgeable in segmental pressures with ABI, as well as abdominal, pelvic, and kidney studies. The facility serves a wide variety of patients. Cancellation policy allows for the cancellation of up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting system utilized is Cerner. BSN is not required. Trauma level is acute.
