Join us in modernizing commercial insurance with modern AI.Role Overview: As a Functional Consultant, you will serve as the critical link between business needs and technical execution, helping customers translate complex underwriting workflows into scalable, AI-powered solutions. This is a highly visible, high-impact role for someone who enjoys both problem-solving and building—combining strong business analysis skills with a consultative, solution-oriented mindset. You will partner closely with customers from discovery through go-live and beyond, ensuring solutions are not only delivered—but drive measurable business outcomes.The Functional Mindset: We’re looking for someone who brings the best of both Business Analysis and Functional Consulting:Structured in discovery: Able to clearly gather, document, and validate requirements with precisionSolution-oriented: Moves beyond analysis to define and deliver practical, scalable solutionsComfortable with ambiguity: Navigates evolving requirements and finds a path forwardFocused on outcomes: Constantly thinking about speed to value and business impactYou don’t just document what is—you help design what should be.What You'll be DoingBusiness & Solution AnalysisLead discovery sessions to understand underwriting workflows, data structures, and business goalsTranslate requirements into clear functional designs, user stories, and solution specificationsChallenge assumptions and recommend improvements aligned to industry best practicesSolution Design & ConfigurationDesign and configure solutions within the Convr platform, including underwriting rules, submission triage, and AI decisioning workflowsPartner with Engineering to ensure solutions are scalable, efficient, and aligned to customer needsImplementation & DeliveryDrive end-to-end implementation activities from onboarding through go-liveManage priorities, timelines, and risks using tools like JiraEnsure a smooth transition from design to execution with a strong focus on quality and speedUser Acceptance Testing (UAT)Plan and lead UAT cycles with business and technical stakeholdersManage defect tracking, gap analysis, and resolutionEnsure readiness for production deploymentCustomer Engagement & Value RealizationAct as a trusted advisor to customers, identifying opportunities to improve workflows and outcomesPartner with Customer Success to drive adoption and long-term valueContinuously look for ways to optimize and expand how customers use the platformExperience RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field3–5+ years of experience in Functional Consulting, Business Analysis, or Implementation roles within SaaS or enterprise softwareStrong experience in Commercial P&C Insurance and understanding of the underwriting lifecycle (submission through quote)Proven ability to translate business requirements into functional solutionsExperience supporting software implementations, including UAT and go-liveExcellent communication skills with the ability to work across business and technical teamsProficiency with tools like Excel and Jira (or similar)Familiarity with data structures, SQL, or AI-driven platforms (A Plus)Location: Must reside within 45 miles of Schaumburg, ILBenefits & CompensationRemote work opportunitiesFlexible Paid Time OffCompany Paid HolidaysInsurance Coverage (medical, dental, vision, short-term & long-term disability, life insurance, and accident coverage)401KPaid Parental LeaveSalary Range: $120,000 – $150,000.
