Electrical Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee and coordinate commercial electrical projects from start to finish. This role requires working both in the office and the field, ensuring smooth project execution, compliance with electrical codes, and efficient resource management. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Coordination Develop and oversee project schedules; ensuring deadlines and milestones are met. Coordinate with general contractors, internal office personnel, and field electricians. Plan labor, materials, and equipment needs for upcoming projects. Site & Field Management Conduct frequent site visits to monitor progress, enforce safety regulations, and resolve on-site issues. Work directly with field electricians and foremen to ensure work is performed according to plans and specifications. Address and resolve any obstacles that arise during construction. Resource & Material Management Procure and manage materials, ensuring proper delivery and allocation to job sites. Coordinate with the shop manager to verify material availability before ordering. Maintain relationships with suppliers to secure the best pricing and availability of materials. Ensure tools, lifts, and gang boxes are set up and available for job site needs. Compliance & Safety Ensure all work complies with NEC codes, OSHA regulations, and project specifications. Enforce job site safety protocols and conduct site audits when necessary. Work with safety personnel to minimize risks and maintain a safe working environment. Estimating & Bidding Assist in preparing estimates and bids for electrical projects. Review project plans and specifications to determine material, labor, and time requirements. Collaborate with the office and field teams to refine and adjust bids as needed. Communication & Reporting Serve as the point of contact between field teams and office personnel. Provide regular progress reports, updates, and documentation to management. Attend project meetings and relay important information to the field teams. Qualifications: Experience: 4+ years in the electrical industry (preferably as an electrician), with additional experience in project management, site supervision, or other leadership roles. Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems, NEC codes, and commercial electrical construction. Skills: Excellent project management and organizational abilities. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions. Effective communication and leadership skills. Proficiency in estimating, scheduling, and material procurement. Ability to read construction blueprints and give accurate instructions to field team. Technology: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) is a must, and experience in QuickBooks is preferred but not required. Work Environment: Split between the office and job sites. Travel to project sites as needed. Interaction with electricians, foremen, general contractors, and office staff.
