The incumbent supervises a group of non-exempt employees, motivating them to meet company goals, top standards for safety, quality and productivity. The Supervisor ensures that the receipt, inspection and shipment of product for re-sale meets all State and Federal Laws in the bedding industry.What You'll Do:* Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, andenforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures with focus oncontinuous improvement.* Complies with federal, state, and local laws pertaining to warehouse, material handling, andshipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence torequirements; advising management on needed actions.* Ensure safe work environment for all associates with robust Safety Program to create accident-free work areas.*Provided DOT & FMSCA expertise to ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local requirements.*Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring securityprocedures and protocols.* Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.* Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repaid and requisitions for replacement.* Achieves financial objectives by developing associates and monitoring adherence to procedures while motivating associates to hit productivity standards.* Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees;following up on work results.* Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.*Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.What You'll Need:* Strong knowledge of inventory control processes.* Demonstrated experience in a warehouse environment utilizing technology (e.g. layout, slotting, scanning, bin locations, etc.)* Leadership , ability to influence others to perform their jobs effectively and to be responsiblefor making decisions.* Management Skills - Ability to organize and direct oneself and effectively supervise others.* Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions* Time Management - Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines* Coaching and Development - Ability to provide guidance and feedback to help othersstrengthen specific knowledge/skill areas.* 5+ years of warehouse/distribution, logistics, and delivery experience required.Tempur Sealy is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
