MSP Support Engineer
Job Description:
Asteroid IT is a growing managed service provider supporting CPA firms and compliance-driven businesses across the Phoenix metro. We are hiring a full-time MSP Support Engineer who is hungry to learn, take on increasing responsibility, and grow with us.

What You'll Do
Work is a mix of assigned project work and support tickets (approximately 75% project, 25% tickets)
Support and maintain onsite Windows Servers at client locations
Handle Level 1 and Level 2 support tickets across multiple client environments
Troubleshoot Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, and workstation issues
Perform user onboarding and offboarding
Support Sophos firewalls and Sophos email security
Manage endpoint security and monitoring through Huntress
Assist with network troubleshooting involving HP switches and Ubiquiti equipment
Use ConnectWise Automate (RMM) for monitoring and remote management of client environments
Install and maintain endpoint security and monitoring agents
Own device deployments and project work
Maintain clear, accurate ticket notes in ConnectWise Manage and documentation in IT Glue
Escalate appropriately with clear documentation when needed
Grow into higher-level technical work, projects, and eventually leadership as the company expands
What We're Looking For
Required: 3+ years of hands-on experience in an MSP environment
Comfortable handling tickets and project work independently without micromanagement
Strong understanding of ticketing systems, SLAs, and MSP workflows
Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Windows environments

Required: Ubiquiti networking equipment
Solid grasp of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs)

Reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated, quiet home workspace
Required Qualifications
U.S. citizenship (required, our clients hold Department of Defense contracts that require U.S. citizenship for all personnel accessing their environments or facilities)
Located in the Phoenix metro area
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (required for onsite client visits)
Willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with applicable law
Willing to take a pre-employment drug test, in accordance with applicable law

Working in or supporting compliance-driven environments such as HIPAA, NIST 800-171, IRS Publication 4557 / Safeguards Rule, or FTC Safeguards Rule
Familiarity with CPA, healthcare, legal, or other regulated industry clients
Relevant certifications (CompTIA Security+, Network+, Microsoft certifications, Sophos certifications, etc.)
Experience with documentation frameworks, risk assessments, or security audits
Exposure to SOC 2 or CIS Controls frameworks
Schedule & Work Environment
Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Arizona time
Hybrid position, primarily remote, with in-person work at client sites in the Phoenix metro (and occasionally out of state) when required
No sales, quoting, or client ownership responsibilities
Compensation
$60,000 – $73,000 per year, depending on experience
