The Director of Construction & Facilities is a seasoned leader with executive presence, multidisciplinary operations experience, a strong background in large-scale facilities and construction environments, and a hands-on, collaborative leadership style.Position OverviewA renowned 4,000-acre nature reserve and eco-tour destination on the North Shore of Oʻahu that blends conservation, cultural heritage, and outdoor recreation is seeking a senior leader to oversee all construction, facilities, landscaping, and housing/property operations across a large, complex property that includes residential housing, visitor-facing facilities, and cultural and natural assets. This executive-level role partners closely with senior leadership to plan and execute capital projects, maintain existing infrastructure, and ensure all physical assets support long-term sustainability, preservation, and guest experience goals.ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee Facilities, Construction, Landscaping, and Housing/Property teamsManage capital projects including new construction, renovations, and infrastructure improvementsOversee daily facilities operations, maintenance programs, and vendor relationshipsDirect landscape operations including grounds maintenance, irrigation, and land stewardship initiativesOversee housing and property operations across a portfolio of residential and mixed-use propertiesEnsure compliance with building codes, permitting, land-use regulations, and safety standardsDevelop and manage budgets, long-term plans, and operational prioritiesServe as a senior point of contact with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholdersSkillsLeadership of multidisciplinary teams (facilities, construction, property, landscape)Capital project planning and executionFacilities and infrastructure managementVendor and contractor managementBudgeting and financial oversightRegulatory compliance (building codes, permitting, land use)Strong communication and stakeholder managementAbility to balance strategic planning with hands-on executionRequirementsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, Property Management, or a related field7+ years’ experience overseeing large-scale facilities, construction, or property operations.Experience managing complex projects, multiple teams, and budgetsWorking knowledge of building codes, permitting, and land-use regulationsStrong leadership presence with the ability to represent the organization externallyAbility to operate in a fast-paced, hands-on environmentCompensationThis role offers a competitive salary starting at $160,000, with the potential to go higher for candidates with relevant experience and expertise.
