Line & Grill Cook

Blue Moon is looking for a calm, hard-working, efficient team player to work in our restaurant as a Line & Grill Cook. We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with the hours 8 AM - 8 PM during the week and 8 AM - 9 PM on the weekend. We are closed on Sundays. We could use help with both day shift and the evening shift and can work with you on the schedule that works best for both your needs and ours. We will consider part-time or full-time for this position depending on the candidate. We are a family-owned business and take great pride in our food. This role is essential in preparing the high quality dishes we serve daily at our restaurant in downtown Spartanburg! Weekend availability a must! RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare dishes to order on the line including a flattop grill, fry station and saute station. Prioritize and manage tickets ensuring all food is prepared quickly and correctly to order. Assist chefs & bakers with food prep; evaluate needs each service and prep as needed. Take pride in our food – ensure it comes out quickly, simultaneously and is presented to our high quality standards Clean up station after each service and comply with sanitation guidelines Dishwashing – team effort Other responsibilities & tasks as requested SKILLS: Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook Accuracy and speed in food prep and presentation Strong work ethic, reliable and self-motivated Ability to keep calm under pressure in a fast paced environment – we have an open kitchen, so it’s a must that you stay positive and professional throughout the service Team player, always looking for ways to jump in and help Friendly nature, gets along well with others; comfortable interacting with customers ServSafe or ServSafe Manager a plus BENEFITS: Opportunity to work for a fast-growing family owned business where you can really make a difference – recently named Small Business of the Year by OneSpartanburg Inc.
