With supportive leadership, collaborative teams, and opportunities to grow, GUARD is a place where people build meaningful, long‐term careers.Good Things You Can Count On.Hybrid schedule: 2 days remote / 3 in‐officePredictable hours (no nights, weekends, or holidays)Competitive pay + generous PTOMedical, dental & vision starting day one401(k), tuition reimbursement & longevity bonusesResponsibilitiesWe are hiring a Senior Claims Adjuster (JD required) to handle New York Labor Law (NYLL) claims, including litigated commercial general liability claims with high exposure.This role focuses on coverage analysis, litigation management, and claim resolution for construction-related losses.Handle New York Labor Law claims (Sections 200, 240, 241), including large-loss and litigated filesAnalyze liability, damages, and defenses using applicable statutes and case lawReview insurance policies, endorsements, construction contracts, and indemnification agreements to determine coverage, priority of coverage, and risk transferWork with defense counsel on litigation strategy, motion review, settlement discussions, and trial preparationEvaluate pleadings, depositions, expert reports, medical records, and discovery materialsNegotiate claim resolution through settlement, mediation, or trial preparationSet and adjust indemnity and expense reserves based on claim exposurePrepare written claim evaluations and recommendationsAttend hearings, mediations, trials, and litigation-related conferences as neededQualificationsJD required; attorney license preferred10+ years of experience handling CGL and/or BOP liability claims5+ years handling New York Labor Law claims with exposures exceeding $500,000Experience analyzing insurance coverage, policy language, and construction contractsExperience with risk transfer and coverage priorityStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage a high-exposure claims caseloadExperience using claims systems and standard business toolsAbility to work with defense counsel, experts, and internal teamsLicensing Requirement: Candidates must hold an active adjuster license or be willing and able to obtain and maintain all required state licenses. The company will support the licensing process, including training and compliance with ongoing continuing education requirements.Salary $140,000 - $200,000 + bonusIn accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, this range represents a good‐faith estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, credentials, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.This role may be based out of any of our office locations, including:New York, NY; Parsippany, NJ; Conshohocken, PA; Wilkes‐Barre, PA; Alpharetta, GA; Rosemont, IL; Plano, TX; Scottsdale, AZ; and Rancho Cordova, CA.
