Cook/Kitchen Manager We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated individual to become part of the Chapman’s team at our Columbia City Taproom. We are looking to hire a part-time or full-time candidate. We are looking to hire both a Line Cook and Kitchen Manager. Candidate will have a culinary voice and work with our General Manager regularly. Position Summary: Line Cook: Cook is in charge of properly stocking, cleaning and operating inside the kitchen. Must work at a fast pace and be able to properly prepare any appetizers or sides going out of the kitchen. This person(s) must work at a fast pace, is responsible for preparing high quality food in a timely, efficient, safe and sanitary manner. Accountabilities include adhering to Policies and Procedures outlined by Chapman's management; following Chapman's standard recipes, procedures, and presentation specifications; meeting food and safety standards while following guidelines for producing exceptional food with minimal waste. The Cook must keep their station clean and orderly during service and fully stocked and prepared before service begins. This person(s) will work with other team members to ensure that each and every guest receives exception food and hospitality. Kitchen Manager: The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for everything listed above as cook, as well as: maintaining overall cleanliness of the kitchen, placing food orders, receiving food orders, maintaining inventory, monthly inventory (or as needed), covering shifts when cooks call off, training new cooks, and designing new Roulette Menu Items. This Kitchen Manager job will be hired as a Line Cook and training in management duties until the time that our new taproom in Fort Wayne is opened. At that time (sometime between April and June) the cook would be promoted to Kitchen Manager and given a raise. Qualifications: Restaurant kitchen experience is preferred. Commitment to quality, service, and expanding knowledge and skills. High school diploma or GED preferred. Must be able to read and speak in English. Clean and professional appearance. Must be self motivated and able to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced, high pressure environment. Able to multi-task and manage quickly changing priorities. Strong team-work orientation, and well organized Able to work late afternoon/evenings + weekends preferred.
