Software Engineer

Chicago $525,000 - $875,000 Permanent We have been retained by a well-established global trading firm in Chicago that generates $2.5B yearly in gross revenue & is looking for a Software Engineer to join it's research team. On-site obligation is 2-3 days a week and relo packages are included. Client is willing to wait 12-18 months for a non-compete. Role: To assist in the implementation of quantitative strategies. To build and implement data pipelines. To develop trading infrastructure in C++ & Python. To support the quant team with tooling and simulation. Essentially, its a generalist software role, acting as the go between three different teams (Quant, Data and Infra). Essential skills: BS in CompSci/ Maths or similarly related field. Experience working closely with a quant team (or on it) & simulation. Familiar with Python and/or C++ Experience working at a trading firm (recently hired from Akuna, Wolverine and CitSec). Familiar with pipelines. Beneficial skills: Previous experience in greenfield development/ building out something from scratch (startup/ new product 0-1). MSCS or similarly related field. Familiar with presenting to stakeholders. Leadership experience. Compensation: Our client is looking at $525,000-875,000 total compensation. This is broken into a base with a guaranteed bonus Y1.
