Salary: $15.00 - $20.00 HourlyLocation : Robbinsdale, MNJob Type: Part Time Temporary/SeasonalJob Number: 2022-2Department: Recreation ServicesOpening Date: 02/23/2026Position ObjectiveGeneral Duty StatementRobbinsdale is seeking individuals to assist with Birdtown Summer Blast, an exciting summer day camp opportunity for area youth ages 6-12. Camps will take place at Manor and Lee Parks. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:45 AM to 1:30 PM. The City title for this position is Recreation Specialist I.Position Objective:Under supervision of the Summer Programs Coordinator, or their assignee, assists in leading activities and monitoring facilities of assigned programs, which includes and is not limited to: staff management, youth skill development, safety, cleanliness and effective communication.ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesManages daily activities at program locations.Communicates any site concerns to supervisor.Participates in all scheduled staff trainings, orientations, and meetings throughout the summer.Under direction of the supervisor, assists with the facilitation of activities for children of all ages.Attends pop-ups, events, and assists with various recreation department needsMust be able to communicate clearly with youth of varying ages.Follows established policies, procedures and guidelines.Develops positive relationships with staff, participants, and parents.Follows established procedures in emergency situations.Minimum QualificationsMinimum QualificationsMinimum age: 15 yearsPrevious experience working in a camp setting, or previous playing and/or coaching experience.Knowledge of recreation and sports activities.Preferred Training and Experience2-3 years of experience working with youth, preferably in a recreation setting.Current certification in Babysitting, CPR and/or First AidSupplemental InformationWill be working primarily outside in various weather conditions.
