IT Business Analyst / Data Center & Migration

IT Business Analyst to support the consolidation and migration planning for two enterprise data centers. You will inventory servers and applications, coordinate migration readiness across application owners and vendors, and maintain a centralized tracking register that provides leadership with clear progress visibility. You are a persistent self-starter who excels at facilitating cross-team conversations, mapping dependencies, and keeping complex workstreams moving forward.Responsibilities:Conduct a full inventory of all servers and applications within targeted data centers (~350–400 servers; 15–20 teams); assign ownership for each asset and document migration readiness statusDocument dependencies, configurations, and application-to-infrastructure relationships for each workloadFacilitate structured conversations with application owners and infrastructure teams to determine migration method, destination, and timelineCoordinate vendor involvement and sign-off for complex applications (e.g., specialty clinical systems and other vendor-managed platforms)Maintain a consolidated migration tracking register with status, method, dependencies, and blockersIdentify and document cross-application and cross-team dependencies; flag migration blockers such as vendor sign-off delays, budget gaps, or downtime constraints for escalationBuild and maintain a migration progress dashboard with clear status indicators (Pending, In Progress, Complete, Blocked)Conduct regular stakeholder follow-ups to ensure commitments are met; escalate unresolved issues to leadership as requiredAlign migration sequencing and planning coordination with program timelines; support potential expansion as the program scales to additional data centersQualifications:Familiarity with data center environments, asset inventory practices, and workload migration conceptsExperience with CMDB or asset management tools and project management platformsStrong project or program management experience — milestone tracking, stakeholder coordination, and dependency mappingProficiency in Excel for tracking, inventory management, and data analysisExperience building or maintaining dashboards and progress reports in Power BI, Tableau, or equivalentFamiliarity with IT infrastructure concepts at a working — not engineering — levelStrong communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to facilitate cross-team conversations and negotiate timelines and commitmentsHighly independent and self-sustaining; organized, persistent, and detail-orientedAbility to synthesize disparate data into clear, actionable reports for senior leadershipPM-level candidate; direct source preferredTools and Technologies:Power BI / TableauMicrosoft Excel (advanced)CMDB / asset management toolsProject management platforms (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent)
