This role advances Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), conducts evaluations to determine eligibility and educational needs, and translates assessment results into clear, actionable recommendations. The School Psychologist partners closely with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to design and implement effective interventions, strengthen staff capacity, and ensure ethical, compliant delivery of services that promote positive outcomes for students.QualificationsEducation: Minimum of a Master's Degree in School Psychology and an Education Specialist's Degree. Licensure: Current State of Minnesota Teacher License in School Psychology. Mobility: Valid Minnesota Driver's License or evidence of mobility. Expertise: Advanced knowledge of federal and state laws, due process requirements, and special education eligibility criteria. Overview of DutiesDemonstrate proficiency in psychological test administration, scoring, and data interpretation to inform educational decision-makingLead and support Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) implementation, including data-based problem solving and intervention planningUse strong conflict resolution and interviewing skills to build productive partnershipsCollaborate effectively with parents, staff, administrators, and community partnersConduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate students for special education eligibility and educational needsCommunicate evaluation results clearly to families and school teams and provide actionable programming recommendationsServe as an active, contributing member of multidisciplinary assessment teamsCollaborate with fellow school psychologists across the cooperative to strengthen practice and consistencyPartner with team members to design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based intervention strategiesDevelop, implement, and monitor individualized student plans and provide staff training to support effective implementationFacilitate clear communication among administrators, teachers, and families regarding student needs and servicesUphold high standards of ethics, professionalism, and confidentialityEnsure compliance with special education law and due process requirementsAbout MawsecoMAWSECO is an agency of seven-member school districts (Annandale, Dassel-Cokato, Delano, Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, Litchfield, Maple Lake, and Rockford) that have joined together to provide services in the area of special education.
