Senior CAD Designer

Job Summary:The primary job of the Senior Detailer is to generate comprehensive erection and shop drawings of all fabricated members, complete with a detailed bill of materials, encompassing field fastens and miscellaneous items. This task involves utilizing relevant detailing standards and software.Essential Functions:Create erection and fabrication drawings with a Bill of Materials using both 3D and 2D softwareReview drawings and specifications for conflicts and errorsRevise drawings as directed after Internal review / Approval and contract changesAssist fabricators with questions when necessaryUpdate drawings per As-built markupsHandle multiple projects simultaneously in a very fast-paced, production-driven environmentCreate PDFs of completed drawingsMeet deadlines for assigned projectsConduct shop visits as neededRespond to production issues with a sense of urgencyFollow and support all PBS Company Safety PoliciesAdditional Duties:Undertake additional responsibilities or duties as required to support company operationsQuality Standards:Must be able to read and understand drawings, codes, and specifications, ensuring adherence to established fabrication proceduresAbility to work with a team under pressure and within tight schedulesAttention to detailsGeneral Microsoft Office experienceHighly organized and committed to producing accurate and complete workEducation and/or Experience:Knowledge of construction practices, AISC requirements5+ years of experience in Autodesk AutoCAD5+ years of experience in Autodesk Inventor (or SolidWorks)5+ years of experience with structural steel detailing or storage tanksCollege education or Detailing certification and five years of experience in a related field or equivalent is requiredTeamwork:Teamwork is essential in this position, and the Senior Structural Steel Detailer/Drafter must have a positive attitude and be able to work effectively with all departments, managers, and staffActively participate in safety meetings and promote company safety culture while working closely with the safety departmentLanguage SkillsMust communicate professionally and effectively with co-workers, other departments, and managers.ReportingThis position will report directly to the Detailing Manager while working closely with the Prefabrication Manager, Operations Coordinator, QA Manager, Project Manager and Engineers.Powered by JazzHRegdxZ5S8GY
