Manufacturing Test Systems Engineer

Reports to: Manager, Technical OperationsDirect reports: None (may lead or coordinate projects)Your day-to-dayYou start your day on the production floor, partnering with operators to quickly isolate and resolve production test failures. By mid-morning, you’re reviewing a new test platform’s readiness for transfer into manufacturing—verifying fixtures, software, documentation, and training plans are in place. In the afternoon, you’re standardizing test equipment across lines to reduce variability and cost, and closing the day by updating stakeholders on progress across multiple critical test initiatives.What you will doProvide hands-on daily support for Test, rapidly diagnosing and clearing production test failures.Coordinate and drive the introduction of new test platforms into manufacturing, ensuring smooth transitions.Develop and refine test methods for parts, sub-assemblies, and finished products.Lead efforts to standardize test equipment and processes across programs.Estimate test-related costs and labor standards; identify and execute cost-reduction opportunities.Author, implement, and maintain test procedures and related documentation.Maintain technical excellence through ongoing training and skill development.Champion a safe, efficient, and secure test environment.Own the quality and accuracy of your work products.Scope, collaboration, and impactInterfaces: Collaborate with company leadership, purchasing, manufacturing teams, contract manufacturers, suppliers, and customers.Decision-making: Operate with minimal supervision—independently or within a team—to recommend and implement test solutions and approaches.Impact: Contribute technical expertise across multiple complex, high-priority projects with a strong focus on timely implementation.QualificationsBSEE or equivalent, plus 3–5 years as a Test Engineer in the electronic assembly industry.Deep knowledge of test equipment, applications, and manufacturing test technologies.Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and solve complex problems.IPC certified; excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal savvy.Flexible, self-directed, and effective with minimal supervision.Preferred proficienciesIPC-A-610OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing)Equipment troubleshootingHands-on troubleshooting skillsExperience in a manufacturing environmentAS9100 experienceNote: This description highlights primary responsibilities and may evolve as business needs change.
