The Superintendent is responsible for leading all on-site field operations for healthcare projects throughout Central Illinois. This role requires deep experience working in active hospitals, medical campuses, and outpatient facilities, with a strong emphasis on safety, infection control, phasing, and coordination with clinical staff to ensure uninterrupted patient care.Key ResponsibilitiesField Leadership & OperationsLead day-to-day field operations on healthcare construction and renovation projectsPlan and execute site logistics, phasing, and sequencing in occupied healthcare environmentsSupervise subcontractors, field staff, and trade partners to maintain productivity and qualityMaintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites aligned with healthcare standardsHealthcare-Focused ExecutionEnforce Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) requirements and interim life safety measuresCoordinate construction activities around patient care, staff workflows, and sensitive clinical operationsImplement dust, noise, vibration, and odor control measuresPlan and manage shutdowns, tie-ins, and after-hours work in coordination with facility teamsSafety, Quality & ComplianceChampion jobsite safety and compliance with OSHA, hospital policies, and project-specific safety plansLead daily huddles, safety meetings, and toolbox talksEnsure work meets contract documents, healthcare codes, and regulatory requirementsCoordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and closeout activitiesScheduling & CommunicationDevelop and maintain detailed short-interval schedulesTrack daily progress and proactively adjust manpower and sequencingServe as the primary on-site contact for facility managers, infection control teams, inspectors, and consultantsWork closely with the Project Manager to identify risks and resolve field issuesQualifications7+ years of superintendent experience, with a strong emphasis on healthcare constructionProven experience working in active hospitals, clinics, or medical campusesStrong knowledge of ICRA, interim life safety measures, and healthcare construction standardsAbility to read and interpret construction documents and coordinate complex building systemsExcellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsOSHA 30 certification requiredAbility to travel throughout Central Illinois as project needs require
