What to ExpectThis role supports a multi-disciplinary team through software development to continuously improve and maintain the test infrastructure used across validation teams within Optimus Hardware Validation team. You will be responsible for delivering robust, modular, and easy to use code that enables rapid and efficient deployment of new tests and test systems. This engineer supports test engineers on Optimus Validation team. It is the expectation of this role that the engineer has sufficient experience to independently develop, validate, and troubleshoot full stack validation infrastructure.What You'll DoAssigned as the primary software engineer contact for an internal customer team, your role will be to drive, maintain, and provide ongoing software development support for their test infrastructure deployment. The software stack implementation itself is a shared effort, to which you'll contributeBuild robust and flexible Python tools to automate test equipment that communicates over CAN, LIN, RS232, TCP/IP, GPIB and other interfacesBuild tools for hardware abstraction, test scheduling, test execution, test storage, result retrieval and aggregation, and visualization of test data from data lake-style frameworksEnable test engineers to monitor and access time-series data using a web appProvide REST endpoints to serve test data to be consumed by that web front-end or by engineers' custom Python scriptsDisseminate improved software throughout the test lab to elevate other testing. You will train engineers, technicians, and interns to operate your new tools and drive their adoptionDirectly receive and implement user feedback, iterating quickly to provide useful, well-received toolsInstallation and setup of various team toolchains, including python environment and dependency managementWhat You'll BringDegree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experienceDemonstrated experience and technical depth in a software test or QA infrastructure environment.
