As a Professional Engineer for Water Resources, you will be involved in large, multi-discipline projects while developing diverse skill sets.What are the core responsibilities for the role?Design and analysis of waterline, pumping and storage facilities and sewer collection systemsHydraulics and Hydrology experience is desirablePrepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of water resources projectsSystem modeling and evaluationSupport project managers with client relations, stakeholder management, and sub-consultant coordinationInterface with clients including state and local agenciesCoordinate and conduct meetings with project stakeholdersCoordinate with office management and other project managers to share resourcesAssist in proposal preparation including oral presentations. Also prepare the scope, schedule, and budget for new projectsWork within a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of projectsTake ownership of projects from start to finishSupport other project managers in delivering high quality design projects and developing new projects with clientsQualifications, Skills, and Competencies:Undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited program in civil engineeringRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) requiredExperience and relationships with municipalities, water agencies, tribes and flood control agencies are highly preferred.Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, WaterCAD or other water system modeling, 2D Modeling, and other applicable softwareExpertise in hydrologic and hydraulic software, including HEC-1, HEC-2, HEC-RAS, Flow2d, etc.Solid organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.Ability to interact with clients and multi-discipline team members.Willingness to work on projects locally or in workshare with other officesPossess a proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgetsOutstanding interpersonal and customer service skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailMinimum 2-4 years of water system, sewer collection or hydraulics design experienceExperience in managing technical staff and project teams is desirableAbility to manage several projects concurrentlyWhy would a candidate want this job?At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
