IT Systems & Support Manager

Job Type: Mid-level Professional Location: Western Philadelphia Suburbs (Exton, PA area) Employment Type: Full-time, 12-Month, FLSA Exempt Reports To: Director of Technology Position Summary Edu-Tech Academic Solutions is seeking a proactive, hands-on IT SystemsSupport Manager for a partner PK-8 independent school. This role serves as the primary point of contact for all technology-related issues, ensuring the stable and secure operation of the school's infrastructure while providing exceptional support to students, faculty, and staff. The ideal candidate balances daily technical troubleshooting with long-term strategic planning to support the school's educational mission. Key Responsibilities Technical Support and Help Desk Operations Tier 12 Support: Diagnose and resolve hardware (laptops, Chromebooks, iPads, printers) and software issues for all end-users in a timely manner. ClassroomA/V Technology: Manage and troubleshoot classroom interactive displays, projectors, event space sound systems, and video conferencing equipment. Ticket Management: Prioritize and document all support requests, system configurations, and troubleshooting steps via the Help Desk ticketing system. SystemsNetwork Administration Infrastructure Maintenance: Assist in monitoring and maintaining the school's network (LAN, WLAN, and security) and server environments, including Windows Server and virtualization. Account Management: Administer user accounts and permissions across Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Student Information Systems (SIS). CybersecurityData: Implement security protocols (antivirus, content filtering) and ensure regular data backups and FERPA compliance. Asset ManagementLeadership LifecycleInventory: Maintain an accurate inventory of all technology assets, software licenses, and warranties through MDM solutions. Procurement: Research and recommend cost-effective hardware and software purchases that align with the school's technology plan. Strategic Planning: Participate in developing the school's long-range technology plan and create clear user guides/training materials. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent professional experience and certifications also considered. Experience: 3-5 years of technical support experience, preferably in a K-12 educational environment. 2+ years of experience in network administration or systems management. Technical Proficiency: Expertise in ChromeOS, Windows, and macOS. Knowledge of network technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, Wi-Fi) and cloud suites (Google Workspace/M365). Google Workspace Administrator certification preferred. Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills with the patience to assist users of all skill levels. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the school campus for extended periods. Must be able to lift and move equipment up to 40 pounds. Ability to crawl, kneel, and climb ladders to install or repair cabling and equipment.
