ENL Summer Teacher

2026 ENL Summer Program (#1746)PurposePenfield CSD will provide a seven-day summer ENL immersion experience for students who are identified English Language Learners (ELLs) in grades K-5 who are at the entering, emerging, and transitioning levels of English language proficiency. This learning experience will be held in July at Harris Hill Elementary School. Students will build their English vocabulary, background knowledge, and learn through field trips and themed units.Time Commitment For Summer ENL TeachersOne day prior to the start of ENL immersion for orientation and preparation: July 7 Total 7 days of instruction: July 9 - July 17 Teachers arrive no later than 8:00 AM and stay through 1:00PM daily Teachers provide a total of 4 hours of immersion and instruction each day Teachers assist with student drop-off 8:30 AM and pick-up daily 12:30 PM Compensation For Summer ENL TeachersOne six-hour day prior to summer program starting @$40/hour (Summer school pay rate per PEA contract) Five hours per day for a total of 7 days @$40/hour (Summer school pay rate per PEA contract) Requirements For Summer ENL TeachersK-5 Elementary teaching experience Commit to ALL dates listed above, as well as ALL hours listed above (8:00-1:00 PM) Be willing to collaborate with ENL summer coordinator and ENL colleagues Be willing to create interactive and engaging units connected to field trips using ENL research-based teaching best practices Create a combined final summary of the teaching, learning, and student experience to be housed in the Summer ENL Team.
