Senior Structural EngineerJob SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Structural Engineer to lead the design and coordination of complex structural systems across a diverse portfolio. The ideal candidate is a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a mastery of steel and reinforced concrete gravity and lateral systems, specifically within high-seismic regions. You will serve as the primary structural point of contact, managing multidisciplinary coordination and mentoring junior engineering staff.Key ResponsibilitiesStructural Design & Analysis: Lead the design of braced frames, moment frames, shear walls, and diaphragm systems in accordance with ASCE 7, AISC 360, and ACI 318.Advanced Modeling: Utilize industry-standard software such as ETABS, SAP2000, RAM Steel, and RISA-3D to perform complex structural evaluations.Project Leadership: Act as the primary technical contact for clients and transit agencies (e.g., Sound Transit); delegate and review the technical work of junior staff to ensure quality control.Existing Systems Evaluation: Perform seismic retrofits and structural remediations for existing buildings under updated loading demands and operational constraints.Multidisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate closely with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and civil teams to integrate structural systems with overall building performance.Construction Administration: Provide essential field support, including RFI responses, submittal reviews, and structural site observations.Process Improvement: Leverage automation tools like Python or VBA to develop internal calculation templates and improve workflow efficiency.Required QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.Technical Proficiency: Mastery of building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 341, and ACI 318.Software Skills: Expertise in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam Revu for drawing production and coordination.
