Cost Engineer

This is a high-impact role where you’ll play a critical part in driving cost visibility, financial accuracy, and overall project success across a complex, multi-phase initiative.What You’ll DoProject Cost Control & OversightOwn end-to-end cost tracking across a large-scale capital projectDevelop and manage budgets, forecasts, and detailed cost reportsMonitor actuals vs. forecast and proactively identify variances and risksBuild and maintain cost structures (WBS, cost codes, tracking systems)Forecasting & Financial PlanningLead monthly and quarterly forecasting cyclesSupport cash flow planning, scenario modeling, and contingency analysisProvide accurate financial insights to executive stakeholdersReporting & Stakeholder CommunicationDeliver clear, executive-level reporting on project cost performancePartner with project managers, procurement, engineering, and finance teamsTranslate financial data into actionable insights for decision-makingRisk & Change ManagementTrack and assess change orders, claims, and scope adjustmentsIdentify cost risks early and implement mitigation strategiesSupport contract compliance and vendor cost validationProcess & Systems ImprovementImplement and enhance cost control methodologies and toolsImprove reporting automation, accuracy, and efficiencyHelp establish scalable processes for future project phasesWhat We’re Looking For8–12+ years of experience in project cost control, project controls, or construction/energy financeBackground in energy, utilities, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure projectsStrong experience with budgeting, forecasting, earned value management (EVM), and cost analysisProven ability to manage costs on large, complex capital projectsAdvanced Excel skills; experience with tools like Primavera (P6), SAP, Oracle, or similarStrong communication skills with the ability to work across executive leadership and field teams
