Maintenance Technician- Facilities and Grounds

We are a well-established community behavioral health agency with a strong reputation for providing high-quality services. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Worker/ Technician to oversee the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of our facilities, grounds, and vehicle fleet. This role is essential to ensuring that all physical assets are safe, functional, and presentable at all times. The ideal candidate has a broad range of maintenance experience, a strong work ethic, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities: Facilities Maintenance Perform routine inspections of buildings and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) to identify and address issues. Handle repairs related to carpentry, painting, lighting, locks, and general building upkeep. Maintain a preventive maintenance schedule and ensure all equipment is serviced regularly. Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies in a timely and professional manner. Coordinate with contractors and vendors as needed for specialized repairs or upgrades. Groundskeeping Maintain the appearance and safety of outdoor areas, including lawns, gardens, walkways, and parking lots. Perform seasonal tasks such as mowing, trimming, leaf removal, snow/ice removal, and irrigation maintenance. Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment (e.g., lawn mowers, snow blowers, trimmers). Ensure proper disposal of waste, recycling, and yard debris. Fleet Management Conduct regular inspections of company vehicles to ensure safety and operational efficiency. Schedule and track routine maintenance and repairs for all fleet vehicles. Maintain accurate service records and vehicle logs. Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and compliant with local/state regulations. Coordinate with mechanics and external service providers as necessary. Required: High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of experience in general maintenance, groundskeeping, or a related field. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, and maintenance equipment safely. Preferred: Experience managing a vehicle fleet or similar responsibility. Certification or training in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems. CDL or ability to obtain one (if applicable).
