Chief Executive Officer – Leading a Health Center Controlled NetworkAre you a visionary leader ready to transform data and strategy into better patient outcomes? The Health Center Association of Nebraska (HCAN), in partnership with the Heartland Community Health Network, is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead a team dedicated to strengthening health information technology, advancing data-driven strategies, and enhancing clinical and operational performance across participating health centers to improve outcomes for the communities they serve. Why Join Us?Drive Meaningful Impact – Operate at the intersection of mission and innovation by leading a model where health information technology, data analytics, and strategy are central to advancing care Sustained Leadership Environment – A role designed to support long-term executive performance, impact, and personal well-being, supported by a Monday-Friday schedule and generous PTOFlexible Work Location – Lead within a geographically distributed network, with flexibility to work remotely while maintaining strong member engagement; preference given to candidates based in Nebraska or Texas Competitive Compensation – Market-competitive salary starting at $180k (DOE), performance incentive plan, and a comprehensive benefits packageCollaborative Leadership Model – Work within a network governed by participating health centers, where strategic priorities are shaped through shared leadership, alignment, and partnership across member organizationsYour Role:Serve as the principal executive resource to the Board of Directors and its committees, providing strategic leadership and guidance on policy development and organizational direction Lead organizational strategy, ensuring alignment across member health centers and network-wide initiatives Ensure fiscal sustainability through diversification of funding sources, including membership, grants, and other revenue opportunities Utilize financial and analytical skills to take an active role in organizational finances to ensure financial stability and long-term success Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with network members and strategic partners to advance network priorities Oversee network health IT systems, platforms, and data infrastructure to ensure reliability, security, and effective system performance across member organizations What We Are Looking For:Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field with 5+ years of senior/executive level experience Knowledge of HCCN and FQHC principles and practicesDemonstrated ability to apply sound administrative principles and methods in the management of budgets, personnel, and health care programs Demonstrated success securing government, corporate, and philanthropic support Knowledge and experience with EHRs, preferably NextGenAbility to analyze complex data and effectively communicate results while setting priorities and making decisions on critical health care programs and issues Demonstrated personal qualities that foster trust, collaboration, and respect among staff, member organizations, and to work with staff, network members, and stakeholders in a manner to earn confidence and respectAbility to travel; at least 25% with more travel required in the first year Ready to Make a Difference?If you are a visionary leader ready to transform data and strategy into better patient outcomes, we want to hear from you!Apply today or contact Becca Usher at / 402.657.4076 for more information and a confidential conversation.
