Repairs, installs, fabricates and assembles machinery and structures using the various types of welding techniques, medium, and materials, including the fitting of pipe.Can do some layout and design of structures for use in the plant.Uses torches and welding equipment in a safe manner.Examines areas for fire and hot slags during and after welding / cutting operations are conducted and be familiar with fire fighting equipment and techniques.Insures that gas tests are made continuously while cutting or welding in enclosed areas of the plant (i.e. silos, storage tunnels, etc.)Must be able to weld in vertical, horizontal and overhead situations.Must be able to use various types of welding equipment.Must be familiar with the types of metal and associated welding medium
