Cloud Operations Engineer
Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Cloud Operations Engineer position! This is a 12+ months with potential extension and/or conversion to FTE contract opportunity and will be hybrid 3 days on site in Charlotte, NC.This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.What You'll Be Doing:Drive security and monitoring enhancement initiatives to strengthen cloud infrastructure protection and operational visibilityPartner with Development and QA teams to diagnose and resolve deployment failures, ensuring smooth release processes across all environmentsImprove environment stability by building comprehensive monitoring solutions that enable teams to proactively identify and address issues before they impact operationsMaintain and monitor cloud infrastructure performance, ensuring high availability and optimal resource utilizationBuild and support data and application pipelines within cloud ecosystems to enable seamless data flow and application deliveryTroubleshoot system alerts, Windows events, and operational issues to maintain service reliabilityCollaborate with security teams to implement and enforce cloud best practices across the organizationCommunicate technical concepts effectively across different audiences, from engineers to leadership, explaining the what, why, and how of cloud operationsWhat You'll Need to Have:4-5+ years of strong hands-on experience engineering and supporting cloud environments (AWS or Azure)Solid general infrastructure experience including server fleet management, virtual environment administration, DNS, network routing, and firewall fundamentalsStrong PowerShell scripting knowledge with the ability to read, modify, and create automation scripts, including experience with CloudFormation, CDK, and SSM documentsDeep understanding of cloud architecture principles including resiliency, availability, scalability, and the strategic reasoning behind multi-datacenter deployments and environment separation (dev vs. production)Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code practices and CI/CD deployment toolsStrong foundational knowledge of how applications communicate across networks and the internet, including serverless patterns and cloud security basicsA hunger to learn complex environments quickly and adapt to evolving cloud ecosystemsDemonstrated ability to communicate at various technical levels and collaborate effectively across different teams, with leadership potential or aspiration to grow into a team lead rolePay Range: $53-58/hrQuestions about any of our jobs?
