Lead Fire Alarm / Fire Sprinkler Inspector

ABS is seeking a knowledgeable and detail‐oriented Fire Protection Systems Inspector to join our team in Nevada. In this role, you will ensure that fire protection systems — including fire alarm, sprinkler, and suppression systems — meet all applicable state and local codes, including the Nevada Administrative Code (NAC), NFPA standards, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Key Responsibilities Conduct Comprehensive Inspections: Fire alram systems Automatic sprinkler systems suppresion systems Fire pumps Inspecting in accordance with Nevada fire codes (e.g., NAC Chapter 477) and NFPA standards (E.g., NFPA 72, 13, & 25) Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed inspection reports, noting any deficiencies or non-compliant conditions Provide recommendations for corrective actions. Maintain inspection records in accordance with state fire marshal requirements. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that fire protection systems adhere to Nevada State Fire Marshal regulations, local fire codes, and standards adopted by AHJ such as Clark County and the City of Las Vegas. Keep up-to-date with legislative changes affecting fire protection. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with building owners, contractors, and fire department officials Communicate inspection findings and required corrective actions Provide technical guidance on fire protection system installation, maintenance, and repairs. Certification Oversight: Verify that installers and service personnel hold proper certifications Ensuring that all systems are inspected and tested per legal and code requirements Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in fire protection, fire alarm inspections, or related fire safety fields Fire safety experience in Nevada prefferred Certifications: F-Card and G-Card Certification NICET, International Code Council (ICC) Fire Inspector, or similar cerfication preferred Working knowledge of NAC 477 and applicable NFPA standards required Technical Skills: Strong understanding of fire protection systems / fire alarm systems and building construction principles as they relate to fire safety. Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical specifications. Attention to Detail: Excellent organizational, analytical, and documentation skills, Strong written and verbal communication Other Requirements: Must be able to pass background check to access federal buildings.
