This role ensures the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of electrical power systems supporting 24/7 pharmaceutical manufacturing, laboratories, warehouses, and critical utilities.This position provides technical and people leadership to a team of electricians and electrical specialists, while driving electrical system reliability, safety, and compliance with cGMP, FDA, NFPA, NEC, and local codes. The role also leads capital projects, lifecycle asset management, and vendor oversight for all electrical infrastructure.How you will contributeLeadership & OperationsLead site-wide electrical engineering and maintenance supporting 24/7 operationsManage and develop electricians and technical staff, ensuring coverage, training, and on-call readinessProvide rapid technical support during electrical events, outages, or reliability risksElectrical Systems & ReliabilityEnsure reliable operation of electrical infrastructure, including medium/low-voltage distribution, substations, switchgear, UPS, emergency generators, and grounding systemsEstablish and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to optimize asset lifecycle performanceDrive continuous improvement in system reliability and uptimeSafety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with FDA, cGMP, NEC, NFPA (70/70E), IBC, and local codesOwn electrical safety programs, including arc flash, lockout/tagout, and safe work practicesSupport audits and inspections; ensure timely closure of CAPAsCapital Projects & Vendor ManagementLead electrical scope for capital projects (design review, contractor oversight, FAT/SAT, commissioning, validation)Manage contractors and service providers, ensuring performance, safety, cost, and complianceDevelop and manage capital and expense budgets related to electrical systems and projectsCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Manufacturing, Quality, Automation, Facilities, and EHS to support site objectivesContribute to site reliability, safety, and compliance initiativesWhat you bring to TakedaRequiredBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred; Mechanical/Chemical considered); advanced degree a plus6+ years of experience in electrical engineering or maintenance, with 1+ year in a leadership roleStrong expertise in electrical power systems within pharmaceutical, industrial, or mission-critical environmentsDeep knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and electrical safety standardsProven experience leading skilled trades and technical teams in a 24/7 operationExperience leading electrical capital projects end-to-endStrong troubleshooting and decision-making skills in time-sensitive situationsEffective communication and stakeholder management skillsProficiency in written and spoken EnglishPreferred7+ years in pharmaceutical, biotech, or mission-critical facilitiesExperience in FDA-regulated, cGMP environmentsHands-on experience with power distribution, UPS, emergency power, and electrical safety programsMaster’s degree in Electrical EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseNICET (Fire Alarm) or PMP certificationImportant ConsiderationsAt Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
