With a strong foundation and a forward-looking vision, VERSANT empowers creativity, embraces change, and drives connection in an ever-evolving world.Job DescriptionMS NOW is looking for an experienced Senior Producer for the new weekend show airing 10AM – 1PM on Saturday and Sunday with host Jacob Soboroff.ResponsibilitiesAssist the Executive Producer in the supervision of the editorial vision of each day, including suggesting stories and guests for the showFill in for the Executive Producer when neededSupervise and copy edit segment producers’ scriptsDirectly manage members of the show staffCoach and mentor team members on and outside the teamWrite and produce segments on occasionManage the live show from the control room during regular programming and breaking newsDrive the show planning processLead production of content for digital platforms, social media & MS NOW’s DTC productsQualificationsBachelor’s degree or relevant working experience6 years of editorial experience in a fast-paced newsroom environment, ability to anticipate and respond quickly to changeExperience developing producer talentControl room and breaking news experienceAbility to multi-task on a tight deadlineDesired QualificationsPossess ability to develop story ideas, research and plan segmentsStrong writing skillsSound journalistic judgmentKnowledge of current events, politics and American historyExperience with field tape production -- including scripting, shooting, and producing taped piecesPassion to reveal underreported stories, new angles and diverse voicesAdditional Job RequirementsMust be willing to work in New York, NYMust have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United StatesMust be willing to work weekendsMust be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking newsThis position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.Salary Range: $135,000 - $190,000, bonus eligibleAdditional InformationAs part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with a VERSANT Media employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
