We, (Miracle Software Systems, Inc), are actively looking for "Sr. Mainframe Software Engineer" to work #Full-Time / Contract on W2 with our Direct Client.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Description: We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Software Engineer to support and modernize critical enterprise applications. This role requires strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, DB2, batch processing, and production support, along with experience troubleshooting complex issues and supporting on-call operations.Key Skills:COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, DB2, Stored ProceduresBatch Processing & Production SupportIncident Management & TroubleshootingJira, GitHub, Endeavor, AgileREST/SOAP APIs, SFTP, z/OS ConnectExposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and application modernization initiatives is a plusKey Responsibilities:Serve as the primary Mainframe Developer for Recall Suite applications.Provide production support and participate in an on-call support rotation.Diagnose and resolve incidents, defects, and production issues.Perform application enhancements and mandatory compliance-related changes.Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, business stakeholders, and engineering teams.Manage user stories, defects, incidents, and backlog items using Jira.Support ongoing modernization initiatives and migration efforts to Google Cloud Platform.Participate in code reviews, defect prioritization, and release activities.Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe COBOL and JCL programs.Create and execute unit and integration tests.Assist Java and React development teams by explaining existing Mainframe logic and interfaces.Support data validation and testing activities for newly developed GCP modules.Required Qualifications:Minimum 7+ years of experience in Mainframe development.Strong expertise in: COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, DB2, COBOL Stored ProceduresExtensive experience with batch processing.Experience providing production support and participating in on-call rotations.Strong incident management and troubleshooting skills.Experience managing source code using Endeavor and/or GitHub.Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Jira.Ability to work independently and proactively solve problems.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Ability to prioritize work based on business impact and urgency.Experience with unit and integration testing.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------About Miracle Software Systems:Miracle Software Systems, Inc. is Premier Partner of IBM and a National Implementation Partner of SAP since 1998.
