Reporting To: Firm Partnership Summary: This executive-level role is critical for the strategic leadership and expansion of the firm's assurance practice. The Director will report directly to the Partners, taking responsibility for developing a high-performing audit team, ensuring strict compliance with professional standards, providing ultimate oversight for client engagements, and significantly contributing to the firm's business development and strategic growth.Detailed Scope of ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Practice GrowthTeam Management: Build, lead, and mentor a premier audit team, instilling a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Engagement Oversight: Oversee the entire portfolio of audit and assurance engagements, guaranteeing the delivery of high-quality service and adherence to all professional and internal quality standards.Business Development: Drive the growth of the audit practice by identifying and actively pursuing new business opportunities.Firm Collaboration: Align with the strategic vision of the Managing Directors, contributing to firm-wide goals and fostering strong relationships with other leaders and service areas (tax, consulting).Technical Expertise & Quality AssuranceTechnical Guidance: Serve as the practice's subject matter expert, providing in-depth technical knowledge on complex accounting issues and professional standards.Compliance: Ensure all engagements strictly adhere to applicable standards, including GAAP, GAAS, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).Regulatory Focus: Proactively stay current with industry regulations and best practices, implementing necessary operational changes to maintain compliance and efficiency.People Development & MentorshipTalent Cultivation: Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on staff growth and retention.Training Programs: Design and implement continuous learning initiatives to elevate the technical knowledge and professional skills across the audit team.Succession Planning: Identify, coach, and develop future leaders and managers, ensuring a robust talent pipeline for the firm.Client Relationship ManagementTrusted Advisor: Cultivate and strengthen profitable, long-term client relationships by understanding their core business needs and delivering customized, strategic solutions.Proactive Solutions: Collaborate seamlessly with other service areas (tax, consulting) to offer comprehensive solutions that maximize client value.Client Satisfaction: Proactively manage and resolve client concerns, securing their long-term satisfaction and partnership with the firm.Candidate Profile & RequirementThe successful Director will thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment and demonstrate a broad combination of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and business development skill.Essential Qualifications:Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in audit and assurance, with a distinguished track record of effective leadership.Certification: Active CPA certification is mandatory.Technical Mastery: Extensive, applied knowledge of complex accounting principles, audit practices, and professional standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).Leadership Track Record: Proven ability to successfully lead and mentor audit teams, developing junior staff into future firm leaders.Business Acumen: Strong, deliberate business development skills and a history of successfully acquiring new clients and expanding relationships within an existing client base.Communication: Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills are essential.Compensation & BenefitsAn attractive and highly competitive compensation package is offered for this leadership position, including:A strong base salary and comprehensive benefits.A substantial performance bonus structure.The unique challenge of helping to significantly build and expand the firm's established base.
