Your attention to detail and efficiency will help ensure that food service runs smoothly and safely each day.Key Responsibilities Include:Dishwashing & Sanitation:Clean and sanitize trays, silverware, dishes, and utensils using commercial-grade dishwashing equipmentMaintain proper loading, unloading, and cleaning of dish machines, including filters and spray armsClean and sanitize pots, pans, and kitchen tools to ensure a continuous supply for food prepMaintain proper water and detergent levels; report equipment issues as neededEnsure all washed items are air dried and properly storedFood Service & Support:Assist with food service line setup and breakdown as neededDeliver food carts to assisted living and health care units; return soiled dishes promptlyMay deliver meals directly to resident apartments when requiredAssist with setting up and cleaning for special eventsHelp stock kitchen areas and take inventory as assignedCleaning & Kitchen Maintenance:Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen and dish areasSweep, mop, and hose down kitchen floors to ensure a safe environmentEmpty trash, clean garbage cans, and assist in general sanitationTeam & Resident Support:Participate in cultural change initiatives that enhance resident quality of life (e.g., pets, plants, intergenerational activities)Work collaboratively with dining and nursing staff to ensure resident needs are metRequirements:Required:Ability to stand, walk, and lift frequently throughout the shiftAbility to follow safety protocols and proper food sanitation proceduresCommitment to guest service and teamworkAbility to read and follow written/verbal instructions in EnglishIf under 18, must have a valid work permit; non-residents must have legal documentation to work in the U.S.Preferred:Prior experience in food service or dishwashingWillingness to cross-train and assist in other areas of dining services as neededApply Now!At Friends Homes, every team member contributes to a compassionate, resident-centered community.
