Mobile Equipment Technician
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to maintain and repair utility trucks and heavy equipment. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in hydraulics, electrical systems, and diesel engines to ensure our fleet operates efficiently and safely. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to provide reliable service to our clients.
Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on utility trucks, including hydraulic systems, electrical wiring, and diesel engines, ensuring optimal performance.
Diagnose and repair LMI (Load Moment Indicator) systems and CAN bus (Controller Area Network) issues to maintain equipment safety and functionality.
Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles, identifying and addressing any mechanical or electrical problems to minimize downtime.
Complete accurate and detailed inspection reports and repair orders, documenting all service time and parts costs.
Communicate effectively with customers and internal departments to minimize equipment downtime and ensure customer satisfaction.
Adhere to all safety training and requirements, ensuring a safe working environment.
Maintain a strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to hazardous waste disposal.
Qualifications
Required Skills
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of five years of experience as a Field Service Technician or Shop Technician.
Valid driver’s license.
Must possess your own set of mechanic's tools.
Proficiency in using software for documentation and meeting deadlines.
Preferred Skills
Strong background in electrical systems, reading schematics and blueprints, hydraulics, and welding.
Experience with diagnostic software such as Quick Serve, DTNA, or similar programs.
Familiarity with DOT, ANSI, and Dielectric testing procedures.
CDL Class B license is a plus.
