Job Title: Senior Developer (Hybrid | Azure/.NET) Location: Hybrid (preferred local candidates) Type: Contract-to-HireOverviewWe are seeking a Senior Developer to support the design, development, and delivery of highly scalable, cloud-based enterprise applications. This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer who operates with a high degree of autonomy and can lead complex technical initiatives while remaining hands-on.The Senior Developer will partner closely with architecture and leadership teams to modernize legacy systems and drive the adoption of microservices, API-first, and event-driven architectures. This individual will also play a key role in elevating engineering standards, mentoring team members, and contributing to long-term technical strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain complex applications, systems, and APIs across the Microsoft technology stackLead or contribute to the technical design of scalable, enterprise-level solutions aligned with architectural standardsDrive modernization efforts, including decomposition of monolithic systems into microservices and API-first architecturesBuild and implement event-driven solutions using Azure services such as Service Bus, Event Grid, and FunctionsCollaborate with architecture, product, and leadership teams to deliver solutions that meet current and future business needsApply modern engineering practices including test-driven development (TDD), clean architecture, and automated testingEstablish and maintain application observability through logging, monitoring, and alerting strategiesConduct code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and secure coding practicesTroubleshoot and resolve complex production issues; serve as an escalation point for critical incidentsProvide ongoing maintenance and third-level support, including participation in on-call rotations as neededMentor and guide junior developers, supporting skill development and promoting best practicesContribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiativesEvaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance development capabilitiesRequired Qualifications5–8+ years of professional software development experienceStrong experience with Microsoft technologies, including .NET/C# (Core and/or Framework)Hands-on experience with Azure services such as App Services, Functions, Storage, Service Bus, and Event GridProven experience designing and building scalable, cloud-based applications and APIsExperience working with or migrating from monolithic architectures to microservicesStrong understanding of event-driven architecture and messaging patternsExperience with modern front-end technologies such as Angular, React, or TypeScriptProficiency with SQL and relational databasesExperience with version control systems (GitHub) and modern development workflowsExperience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesHands-on experience with automated testing frameworks and TDDStrong understanding of application observability (logging, monitoring, tracing)Knowledge of secure coding practices and ability to address security vulnerabilitiesExperience mentoring developers and contributing to technical leadershipPreferred QualificationsExposure to Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and layered architecture principlesExperience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub CopilotPrior experience working in large enterprise or highly regulated environmentsAdditional InformationThis role operates with limited supervision and requires strong ownership of projects and deliverablesOpportunity to contribute to technical direction and influence engineering best practices across the teamMay require occasional after-hours support or on-call participation
