Hours: 8:30 am -4:30 pm, Monday-Friday
Location: 4033 SW Canyon Road Portland, OR
Hybrid schedule: Typically, 3 days remote, 2 days in-office
This may vary based upon special events.
Monday is a required in-office day.
Some evening, holiday and weekend work may be required.
Salary: $70,000 – $80,000

Transportation: EWP covers parking or transit costs for trips to and from work and work-related trips.
Paid Time Off: EWP provides days off for 9 holidays, plus one floating day. Sick leave is accrued with a maximum of 80 hours/year. Vacation is accrued with a maximum of 120 hours/year.
POSITION The Operations Director manages EWP’s free intrapark shuttle, offsite OVERVIEW parking services, seasonal visitor service staff, data collection and
analysis, and park planning efforts. The Operations Director oversees the Program Coordinator and Project Coordinator, ensuring staff have what they need to be successful. This position has three main areas of responsibility:

· Partner Engagement
· Project Management

EWP is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to connecting people with the culture, diversity, and wonder of nature in Washington Park in Portland, Oregon. Washington Park
Washington Park is one of Portland’s oldest parks. At 410 acres, it is home to Hoyt Arboretum, Portland Japanese Garden, World Forestry Center, Oregon Zoo, and the International Rose Test Garden. In addition to the cultural institutions, the Park includes the Oregon Holocaust Memorial and Vietnam Veterans of Oregon Memorial, historic monuments, playgrounds, an archery range, tennis courts, group picnic sites, over 15 miles of trails connected to Forest Park, and a TriMet MAX Light Rail station. More than 3.5 million visitors enjoy the Park each year, making it one of Oregon’s top tourist destinations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Staff Management and Team Development - 35%
Ensure staff goals and milestones are clearly defined and effective performance is achieved
· Manage and grow direct reports:
o Project Coordinator, who:
§ Helps manage EWP’s data efforts and projects with partners and contractors, including the free shuttle provider
§ Provides operational support to field staff as needed
o Program Coordinator, who:
§ Helps oversee field operations including traffic management, offsite parking operations, visitor service staff
§ Manages the Visitor Service Specialist
· Support the Executive Director to:
o Develop a strong team culture
o Identify areas of organizational growth
· Support the Marketing Director to:
o Ensure strong collaboration between the Operations and Marketing departments
o Grow EWP’s equity efforts in coordination with the Equity Outreach Specialist
· Serve on EWP’s Leadership Team
Partner Engagement 30%
Ensure alignment between Park partners and EWP
· Manage and grow partnerships with key partners
· Develop EWP program reports for stakeholders
· Manage the Washington Park Safety and Security Committee
o This committee consist of safety and security staff from core partners who meet to coordinate on parkwide safety issues
· Manage the Transportation Advisory Committee
o This committee consist of Deputy and Operations Directors from core partners who meet to discusses parkwide issues such as parking rate increases and parkwide planning efforts
Project Management 25%
Ensure key projects are completed and meet expectations.
· Project budget
o Track expenses to ensure projects stay within the operations budget
· Project outcomes
Define the scope, timeline, outcomes and necessary resources to complete special projects, and direct staff and consultants as needed
o Develop metrics and indicators to measure and evaluate outcomes and to develop efficiencies
· EWP brand
o Ensure EWP materials and visitor interactions are in support of our brand identity
Other Responsibilities 10%
· Help develop and foster a team culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration
and support
· Prepare written and oral reports as needed
· Other duties as needed to fulfill the role
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills:
· Other duties as needed to fulfill the role
· Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience, being no less than 10 years’ work experience in program development and management.
· A minimum of 6 years' experience managing staff
· Experience with customer or visitor services
· Strong statistical analysis skills and ability to utilize outcomes in decision making
· Proactive, organized, and demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Strong attention to detail and desire to ensure work conforms to EWP’s brand voice
· Political acumen and the ability to develop relationships with partners driven by various goals and needs

Work Environment
· Ability to work in a shared/open space environment
· EWP utilizes a hybrid work model, allowing for work-from-home but requiring some in-person meetings and weekly scheduled office days
