Mainframe Programmer (Remote) - COBOL

A financial services organization is seeking a Mainframe Programmer (COBOL) for a remote opportunity working EST hours. This role focuses on supporting a payroll application and developing, maintaining, and enhancing mainframe-based software and database systems.About the Opportunity:Shift:Day Schedule:Monday to Friday Hours:Standard business (EST) Setting:Remote Responsibilities:Support a payroll application in a mainframe environment Design, develop, and modify software systems using COBOL and related tools Analyze user needs, system capabilities, and program requirements to resolve issues Maintain and update databases and database management systems Collaborate with systems analysts, programmers, and other stakeholders on development scope and delivery Qualifications:2-4 years of experience in a related Programming or Software Development role Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field Strong experience with COBOL in a mainframe environment Experience with IDMS Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug screen Desired Skills:Exposure to AGILE methodology Experience with ADSO Knowledge of SQL, Visual Basic, or similar development software Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, requirements gathering, testing, and delivery
