To support our continued expansion, we are seeking a high-performing Packaging Sales Executive to drive new business development and elevate our existing key account partnerships.Position SummaryThe Packaging Sales Executive will oversee a strategic portfolio of existing accounts while aggressively identifying and capturing new market opportunities. This hybrid role is based out of our Long Island headquarters, requiring a consistent field presence to engage with customers and prospects directly.The ideal candidate possesses deep subject matter expertise across corrugated, folding carton, protective, and custom packaging solutions. We are seeking a high-performing professional with the industry fluency and technical acumen necessary to deliver immediate impact with minimal onboarding.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and grow a portfolio of existing packaging accounts, maintaining strong client relationships and meeting gross profit margin targets.Prospect and close new organic business across corrugated, custom packaging, and related product lines.Conduct regular client visits, presentations, and business reviews to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities.Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and leadership to ensure seamless order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.Attend industry trade shows and networking events to generate leads and stay current on market trends.Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and activity reports to leadership.Partner with the marketing team to develop targeted outreach campaigns and sales collateral.Identify and communicate competitive threats, pricing trends, and customer needs to inform product and strategy decisions.Required Qualifications3+ years of direct sales experience in the packaging industry (corrugated, folding carton, protective packaging, or related).Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and growing accounts.Strong understanding of packaging materials, specifications, and manufacturing processes.Ability to have technical conversations with customers about caliber, coatings, grammage, and product specs without needing hand-holding.Existing relationships or a book of business in the packaging space is highly preferred.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Willingness to travel within the New York metro area and Northeast region as needed.Proficiency with CRM tools (HubSpot preferred) and Microsoft Office / Google Workspace.Preferred QualificationsExperience selling to industries such as e-commerce, luxury retail, corporate, manufacturing, or hospitality.Familiarity with drop-ship and vendor-managed inventory models.Knowledge of sustainable packaging trends and materials.Experience with corrugated nationwide accounts (e.g., Nike, major CPG).CompensationBase salary: $95,000 – $115,000 depending on experience.Commission on existing/baseline accounts at 25% (subject to meeting gross profit margin thresholds).Commission on new organic sales at 100%.Benefits package included.Work ArrangementThis role follows a hybrid work model, requiring a consistent presence at our Long Island headquarters approximately two days per week. The remainder of the schedule is dedicated to field-based business development, focusing on client engagement and prospecting.
