Whether you are early in your career looking to rapidly build practical skills or an experienced engineer ready to take on significant technical responsibility, this role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact.You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including systems, electrical, and manufacturing to ensure designs are robust, manufacturable, and production-ready.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute structural FEA models to validate mechanical subsystems such as chassis, suspension, enclosures, and interfacesCreate and maintain load cases, boundary conditions, and simulation workflows to support design decisionsPerform durability, fatigue, and thermal analyses to meet real-world operating requirementsContribute to mechanical design activities including component design, tolerance analysis, and drawing releaseCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate simulation into the product development cycleCorrelate simulation results with physical testing and perform root-cause analysis when neededDocument methodologies, assumptions, and results for design reviews and knowledge sharingWhat Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)Ownership of FEA validation for major subsystems from concept through design approvalDevelopment of repeatable and efficient simulation workflowsRecognition as a trusted contributor for analysis-driven design decisionsDelivery of meaningful contributions to both simulation and physical design effortsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field2+ years of experience in mechanical design and/or structural analysis (internships and project experience considered)Proficiency in FEA tools (e.g., Ansys)Experience with CAD tools such as CATIA, NX, or SolidWorksStrong understanding of structural mechanics, fatigue, and material behaviorAbility to manage multiple tasks independently and communicate technical findings clearlyPreferred QualificationsExperience with heavy vehicles, commercial trucks, trailers, or off-highway equipmentKnowledge of durability and fatigue analysis methods (stress-life, strain-life, etc.)Exposure to thermal analysis or CFDExperience correlating simulation with physical test dataFamiliarity with industry standards such as ISO, SAE, or FMVSSExperience mentoring or leading technical initiativesAdditional InformationThis is a full-time, onsite role based in Mountain View, CACandidates must be authorized to work in the United StatesThe hiring process may include phone and onsite/virtual interviews
