Manager - Service Line Strategy & Operations
Job DescriptionThe Manager - Service Line Strategy & Operations supports the development, growth, and operational performance of assigned service lines across the health system. The position is responsible for leading strategic and operational initiatives that improve access, patient experience, provider alignment, program growth, and financial performance. The role works collaboratively with physicians, administrative leaders, nursing, operations, finance, business development, and ancillary departments to identify opportunities for improved performance, implement solutions, and monitor results. The Manager serves as a cross-functional partner for service line development and is accountable for translating organizational priorities into actionable initiatives, measurable outcomes, and sustainable performance improvement. The role has direct management oversight and accountability for the radiation therapy department. Furthermore, this role has system-wide management responsibility of the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) and its effective deployment across BHC entities.ResponsibilitiesSupports the development and execution of strategic plans for assigned service lines and the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP), ensuring alignment with health system priorities.Leads and coordinates service line market assessments, volume analyses, business planning, and financial evaluations to support new programs, service expansions, and performance improvement efforts [GO1.1]across multiple departments, including operations, nursing, physician practices, finance, marketing, and support services.Partners with physicians and operational leaders to identify clinical and operational opportunities and support implementation of agreed-upon priorities.Assists with the design, launch, and oversight of new programs, workflows, and care delivery models intended to improve service line performance.Evaluates current services and recommends enhancements based on data, organizational priorities, market need, and physician and community input.Prepares business cases, pro formas, capital requests, and supporting analyses for proposed projects and service line investments.Monitors initiative performance and communicates progress, risks, barriers, and recommendations to leadership.Maintains responsibility for department’s operational excellence; ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards.Manages team members, which includes orientation, development and evaluation of team members, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services. Participates in the recruiting, interviewing, and selecting of team members following policies, guidelines and applicable laws. Evaluates team member’s performance relative to job goals and requirements. Provides coaching to staff, recommends education programs, and ensures adherence to internal policies and standards.Maintains responsibility for the fiscal management of department and assures proper utilization of organization’s financial resources.Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to staff.QualificationsMinimum EducationBachelor's Degree Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Related field RequiredMaster's Degree Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Related field PreferredMinimum Work Experience1 year Experience in healthcare administration, operations, strategy, business development, or service line support. Required and1 year Experience leading cross-functional projects, operational improvement initiatives, or strategic planning efforts. Required1 year Experience working with physicians, provider practices, or service line leadership. Preferred1 year Experience with business planning, financial analysis, and healthcare data interpretation.
