Mainframe ProgrammerLocation: RemoteLong term contract - 12 Months with possible extensionsJob SummaryLooking for a z/OS Connect Developer with strong CICS webservices experience to develop and support REST APIs that integrate modern applications with mainframe systems. The ideal candidate should have experience with IBM z/OS Connect, REST APIs, OpenAPI, CICS, COBOL, and mainframe environments.Required SkillsHands-on experience with IBM z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition and API development.Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, JSON payloads, and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.Experience integrating APIs with CICS, COBOL, Db2, and IMS applications.Ability to understand COBOL copybooks and mainframe data structures for JSON mapping.Knowledge of z/OS concepts including RACF/SAF security, regions, SMF, and WLM.Experience with API testing and troubleshooting.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and deploy REST APIs using z/OS Connect.Configure API mappings between mainframe applications and JSON services.Support CICS-based API integrations and troubleshoot issues.Collaborate with development and architecture teams on mainframe modernization initiatives.
