Automation Equipment R & D Manager

GNR has been retained to identify an R&D Manager for AUTOMATION EQUIPMENT & NEW TECHNOLOGIES for a 50+ yr old, well-established advanced materials organization.This company continues to grow by investing in ongoing expansions & advanced technologies, offering a positive work environment, high visibility within the organization and career growth, not to mention a lucrative compensation package!We need an experienced “Hands-on Leader” to manage a highly technical team in R&D of AUTOMATED SOLUTIONS for this factory's manufacturing equipment (material handling, robotics, chemical processing, packaging etc.).You would be responsible for mentoring & leading a team of 10+ engineers working on multiple projects to solve complex equipment needs for multi-million dollar projects.Collaborate with production resources to understand problem areas & improve in-house manufacturing processes with AUTOMATION to drive improvements in capacity, cost, quality, etc.Partner with the leadership team on short / long-term business objectives to create a 5-year roadmap for equipment and technologies.Experience and Skills Required: 5+ years of experience developing and implementing AUTOMATION solutions & researching new technologies for advanced equipment manufacturing req's. Proven leadership in managing & developing an R&D teamPartner with equipment manufacturers on creating solutions while working closely with in-house engineering resources.Utilize a LEAN, Six Sigma methodology throughout the development processes.BS / MS Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or Scientific related fieldUS Citizenship / Perm Resident requiredCOMPENSATION: VERY attractive Base Salary + attractive BONUS + robust relocation package!!LOCATION: On-site in the Saginaw, MI region (Consider the opportunity before dismissing the location: Smaller metropolitan area / mid-size community with great schools, short commutes, lower cost of living, outdoors activities, and enjoy all 4 seasons)
