Technician ILaunchpad Build AI designs and manufactures advanced automation, robotics, and intelligent systems for next-generation manufacturing and infrastructure. Our new El Segundo facility supports prototyping, assembly, testing, and deployment of complex electromechanical systems as we scale production and customer delivery.Position SummaryThe Technician I is an entry-level, hands-on role supporting the assembly, testing, and maintenance of Launchpad Build AI's hardware systems. This position works under close supervision and follows established procedures and work instructions. The role includes occasional travel to customer sites for mechanical commissioning, on-site troubleshooting, and installation support. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, comfortable with travel requirements, and eager to develop technical skills in a manufacturing environment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssemble basic mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components in accordance with drawings, schematics, and work instructionsSupport subassembly builds, system-level assembly, and basic integration tasksPerform routine inspections, functional checks, and basic testingIdentify, document, and report defects, nonconformances, and safety concernsAssist with troubleshooting and rework under the direction of senior technicians or engineersMaintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in compliance with company policies and Cal/OSHA requirementsAccurately complete production, quality, and test documentationFollow all safety procedures, including required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Participate in continuous improvement, 5S, and standard work initiativesRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; technical training or vocational coursework preferred0–2 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, maintenance, or a related hands-on roleBasic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power toolsAbility to read and follow written and verbal instructionsAttention to detail and basic problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, on-site production environmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodationAbility to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periodsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the roleWork EnvironmentManufacturing and production floor environmentExposure to moving mechanical parts, tools, and equipmentNoise levels typical of a manufacturing facilityUse of PPE may be requiredOccasional travel required (approximately 20% of the time)Compensation & BenefitsSalary range: $20-$26 per hour, or $41,600 – $54,080 per year.This position is salaried and classified as non-exempt under California wage and hour lawsEligible for meal periods and rest breaks in accordance with California lawCompetitive salary with a performance bonus and benefits package, including health benefits, paid time off, and holidaysEqual Employment Opportunity StatementLaunchpad Build AI is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including the California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA).
